Three question to Laszlo Szabo, CEO of SkillZ
They are our clients, our friends, good contacts or just people we met in the crypto-community. They have a new vision, they are running great projects, they are developing new services or they just want to share their story. Havas Blockchain interview key people of the blockchain ecosystem.
1- Can you tell us more about yourself?
In 2015 I created a tech recruitment company, and in 2016, while working there, I developed my interest in blockchain and got the “virus” by investing in crypto money and ICOs.
By the end of 2017, I also noticed that the recruitment market was changing and that artificial intelligence was going to improve productivity: I knew that IA would impact the future of work and the daily tasks, which pushed me to commit fully to blockchain technology.
In 2018 I co-founded SkillZ, a company that uses blockchain technology to collect necessary information related to professional skills (education, CV, experience, missions…); in the meantime, we were advising firms using the same technology applied to other use cases.
Since 2019, our team is entirely focusing on making enterprise blockchain deployment and orchestration, faster, easier, and more secure.
2- What pushed you to collaborate with Nomadic Labs and Tezos?
Today we are deploying and orchestrating private and public blockchain architecture in alignment with our customer’s needs (Ethereum, Tezos, Corda, etc.). We are facilitating blockchain “glocal” access and supporting companies through their transformation process.
Tezos vision to become the leading blockchain in the financial sector fits ours. We are convinced that Proof of Stake network, on-chain governance, and formal verification, will improve the protocol energy consumption, scalability, and security.
We will be the first in Europe to support Tezos by accepting the idea to deploy infrastructure in production to big companies via Tezos (private AND public cloud). We are also trying to become the first in Europe to support the Corda blockchain.
The top cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc.) deploy only private blockchains in their cloud. In the context of consortium deployment, first, they don’t adapt to companies’ plural infrastructures, and second, they are not decentralizing nodes’ trust, which remains in doing, a traditional database without the performance. Using these cloud-based services, users cannot connect to public blockchains (Ethereum, Tezos, etc.). We, at SkillZ, deploy private and public networks on any infrastructure type, adapting to complex demand, without becoming a single point of failure for our clients.
3- What are your upcoming projects in the blockchain ecosystem?
Our ambition is to become the European leader in private and public blockchain deployment for large corporations. At the same time, we will also address the need for SMEs wishing to experiment with blockchain technologies. Our vision can be summarized by being the missing link between protocols and enterprises.
